I'm excited about the Royal Baby.
I was excited about Kate's wedding.
I was excited about Diana's wedding.
I was excited about Diana's babies.
All things Royal.
Love. Love. Love.
So much yuck lately.
National news. Personal family challenges. Life. Stuff. Ick.
So I'm just going to get excited about something happy. That I love.
The Royal Baby!
I mentioned to the Captain yesterday that I was excited about the arrival of the Royal Baby.
It was met with a "humph."
What?
How can you not be excited about this??
You don't even care? You don't want to know when she has the baby? And if it's a boy or a girl? And what the baby's name is?
What?
Who are you???
"I only have so much excitement to go around and I'm not wasting it on the Royal Baby. I don't even know these people."
Then we got in a big discussion about royal lineage.
And who would inherit the throne.
He really doesn't care.
Not interested.
At all.
Fine.
"So, Captain, what I hear you saying is that you don't want me to put your name on the gift card?"
Fine.
He just told me he was more excited about the birth of the twin panda cubs in Atlanta thn he is about the Royal Baby.
OK, then.
I will remain on Royal Baby watch.
Alone.
Ta ta.

Royal Disinterest

Nay nay
Yesterday was work, work, work.
And lunch with Mom and Connie
And basketball practice and volleyball practice and a quick run to the grocery
And math homework
And stuff like that
And my driving the Captain crazy because I thought I saw a dead horse
Or a sleeping horse.
He was laying on his side.
On his side.
In the field.
Oh dear.
So I called the Captain who told me more than once that he was not sending a squad car to check on the sleeping dead horse.
What's the problem?
Are you all just too busy fighting crime and chasing criminals to go poke a sleeping dead horse?
Humph.
Well, an hour later the sleeping dead horse was still all laid out in the field.
So I called the Captain again.
By this time, he is wishing he had never asked me out that second time.
I also asked my friend Steve who has real live horse knowledge.
Not only does he have real live horse knowledge, he has real live horses.
He said it is not unusual for a horse to grab a sunny spot for a long nap on a cold day.
I quit asking the Captain to send law enforcement and paramedic help.
That's on his equestrian conscience now.
I hope the sleeping dead horse was just enjoying his nap.
And not moving on to greener pastures.

I get it.
Ran across this little video the other day.
And, while I do know the answer to his question, she makes a good case and I can follow her train of thought, too.
It reminds me so so SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO much of conversations I have with the Captain. Like the whole "batteries are stored electricity" convo and the always popular "Africa is a continent AND a country" discussion.
Anyway, give this a lookie. Then, have a good day.

Awww, nuts.
Last night featured another exciting convo with the Captain... We discussed the deeply intellectual topic of nuts.
Nuts.
Be jealous of our most exciting and incredibly romantic life.
Yes, we discuss nuts while we watch shows about people who catch fish with their hands.
Yeah...I know...
So, back to the nuts....
I'm not a fan of the almond. I know he's supposed to be the healthiest nut and great snack and all that stuff. But to me, almonds taste like cardboard. Ick.
The peanut is just a good all-around nut. He tries to be a pleaser. But doesn't always cut it.
Now, the cashew. That's a nut. He's definitely Best in Show. And yes, I'm one of those who pick the cashews out of a bowl of mixed nuts. Don't judge. At least I'm honest about it.
Coming in a close second is the pistachio. While there's a bit of work involved with this little fella', he's mighty yummy.
All those other nuts? Whatever they are... No thanks.
If you want to share your nutty opinion, sound off.
Otherwise, have a good weekend.
