A Letter

Dear Weather Guy (Who Shall Remain Nameless):

I have a quick question for you:

What on earth are you doing?!

IT'S FREEZING OUT THERE!

It's April for crying out loud. We've already had the first day of spring or the spring equinox or whatever it is that you call it.

And we've even been experiencing all the things that spring brings. Like short sleeves, and open windows, and blooming flowers.

Then all of a sudden you throw THIS at us?

Last night a chance of snow flurries?

Snow flurries?!?!?

Are you kidding me?

Today we won't even hit fifty. That's almost thirty degrees colder than that beautiful day we had on Saturday. (Seriously, thanks for that, it was gorgeous on Saturday.)

And tonight we are under a freeze warning? Seriously? A Freeze Warning? (Did I mention it's April?)

I'm sure you'll say something meteorologically intelligent like "a cold front pushing through the area bringing cold Canadian air" or something weathery like that and give some scientific explanation.

And I know, it's not really your fault. Because you are, after all, just the messenger.

So I'll cut out the whining and just try get over it and drag my coat back out.

But please see what you can do and try to make it up me with some warmer temps later this week ok?

Your friend and fan,
Angie

Cold Air Advection due to a southern shift in the polar jet combined with minimal solar insolation as a result of extensive cloud cover will contribute to significantly cooler than average afternoon high temperatures. A typical occurance during the early days of spring. I'm just the messenger. So, don't hate the player....hate the game.
Sincerely,
The Weatherman

Dear Weatherman:

Hate it when the polar jet shifts. I thought that's what had happened.

Nothing personal. Just send me some 70's.

Thanks,
Angie
