Laugh. Cry. And a little slush.

Wednesday night the school chorus sang at church. It was Niece M's last performance as a senior.

So there was some crying.

They sang their senior song and the parents got to go up and stand with them.

Waahhhhh.

More crying.

Then former members of the group got to go up and sing with them.

That's me!

Standing with Niece M and Connie and the others. 

Holding hands and singing and crying.

And I ended up behing a giant tall man.  So I couldn't see around him.  In my attempt to crane my neck to see around him, me, Niece M and Connie got a little tickled.

Laughing.

Made the mistake of catching Connie's eye and then reeeeeeally started laughing.

Like snort laughing.

Then we were praying.   Blessing the seniors that are leaving.  Thanks for this great school.  etc etc etc. 

Crying.

That's when the sister of one of the chorus members pooted.  During the prayer.  During the quiet prayer.

You would have thought we were all six year old boys.

Cue the laughing.

But it's the oh my goodness I can't make a sound cause I'm in church kind of laughing.

So we get through all that emotional laugh cry laugh cry laugh cry.

And the Captain and I are headed home - alone since Jordan is now driving and has my car.

(Did I mention she has named it Tina? .....)

He says, "Let's go by sonic and get a treat."

"WHAT?!?!?  Without the kids??  How scandalous!!"

So we drink up our treats and then head home.

"Gotta throw these cups away in the outside bin so they won't see them."

Sounds like we were hiding beer cans or something.

We go in - I'm telling Jordan about standing behind Giant Man and the struggles of Pooting Girl, and she looks at me and says, "What is all over your shirt?"

Huh?

Lemon berry slush poured alllll down the front of my shirt.

How on earth?

Busted.

So the Captain and I laughed again so hard I couldn't even talk.

Now, let me tell you this whole thing was hilarious.

(Well, except for the crying because my sweet baby Niece M is graduating part...)

But, when I try to retell this story, the other folks don't think it's nearly as funny as I do.

And I'm telling the story and laughing and getting so tickled.

And they look at me.

With a blank stare.

Which is probably what you are doing right now.
