Tuesday's barometer

Right now.... I am....
Thinking ... about how to dress Cooper up for Book Character Day tomorrow.  He can't dress up like a cartoon character, TV show character or comic book character.   And Family Rules are "Gotta' find something around the house.  No money spent on things like this."

Liking ... my new toenail polish color.  OPI My Pointe Exactly.  It's grayish.  It's lovely.   My piggies are happy.

Listening ... to sad stuff on the news.  What's wrong with people?

Drinking ... big ol' cup of black coffee in my Cochran Law Firm mug.  One of my faves.

Needing ... a few more hours sleep.  As always. I just love my bed so much. I think I have a crush on him.

Feeling ...  happy. positive. confident.

Wondering ... if more rain today means no baseball practice tonight.  Five inches of rain yesterday (yes, I said FIVE) put the kibosh on practice last night.  Coop's little team finished first in regular season play (WOOO!) and Thursday night is the first tourny game.

Hoping ... we can make it through these last few weeks of school.  This house is in desperate need of a summer slow down.

listening -- to the wind outside. weather looks pretty stormy today. way too warm out there right now.

drinking -- coffee. of course.

reading -- just started a new book last night. an author i'm not familiar with. mystery thriller type. love those. i am still in major crush with my precious little Kindle.

thinking -- about the big tiger win last night. and leap day. and march madness coming up.

wishing -- the hotel we are staying in this weekend had a microwave and frig. no luck i'm afraid

wanting -- some jelly beans.

missing -- my daddy...

wanting -- to sleep until i wake up. no alarm clock. no reason to get up.

Listening -- to a news story about a man who was cooking a raccoon in big pot in his driveway. People be crazy.

Needing -- a haircut, a day off, a pedicure, and a little more sleep

Reading -- The Help. No, I haven't finished. Yes, it's so very good. No, I haven't seen the movie.

Hating -- 4th grade math

Drinking -- coffee. the end.

Dreading -- some things on today's work to-do list.

Hoping -- the Cardinals can win tonight.

Looking -- for some things to help Jordan dress like a hippie today for Homecoming Throw Back Day. Peace out.

Thinking -- about how sometimes it's just so hard to be a parent. and to have to watch kids go through that thing called LIFE.

Wondering -- if it's too early to put out my fall decorations. Today is officially the first day of fall, but it's still going to be a little warmish next week. Decisions, decisions...

Wishing -- this stupid cold would go away.

Singing -- Party Rock Anthem. If you don't know it from the radio, you'll know it from this commercial. Which I also like. Everyday I'm shufflin... Story of my life.

Thinking -- about a nice, lazy weekend at home watching lots of football. See also: GO HOGS!

Needing -- to go to the grocery store. My family kind of likes food. The nerve...

Reading -- that same ol' book I've been reading for six months.... Yeah, I know....

Stealing -- Jordan's laptop this morning. Also, this whole barometer idea. Again. Remember? It's Busy Mom's thing.

Clapping -- since I didn't use the word "volleyball" one single time in this whole post.

Because nothing says coming up with a blog post by stealing an idea from somebody else, I bring you, ala Busy Mom Barometer, My Barometer...

Wishing -- I could stay home with my kids in the summer.

Needing -- Another cup of coffee

Reading -- "The Second Opinion" by Michael Palmer. Pretty good medical thriller.

Thinking -- About life and family and balance and parenting (heavy, I know) and today's heat (ridiculous) and dinner tonight (casserole in the freezer)

Singing -- "You Lie" by The Band Perry. Although when I asked Jordan who sang that song and she said The Band Perry, I thought it was more like the band Perry. So I said that I really liked Perry. And she kept saying, "It's The Band Perry." And I was like, "Yes, Perry. I like them." Anyway, just remember, "You lie like a penny in the parking lot at the grocery store."

Dreading -- Driving all the way downtown today at 5:00 pm to make a presentation that will last all of three minutes. Stupid.

Needing -- a pedicure

Listening -- to the dryer and the morning news

Waiting -- for my pants to come out of the dryer
