Farewell, Yankee Stadium

Did you watch it? Did you see the last game ever to be played in Yankee Stadium? Even if you are not a Yankee fan, you still would have loved the celebration that happened last night.

Amazing to think about all the history that took place there -- all the greats that played there. Lots of them were there last night.

At the end of the game, the players took a lap around the field. Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" blared through the park. For over half an hour. The players scooped up cupfuls of dirt. Even some of the Baltimore Orioles saved some dirt. And NYPD officers put dirt in popcorn bags. Saving a piece of history.

My Granddaddy would have loved it.
