*yawn*

My daughter's social life and boyfriend are reeking havoc on my sleep.  Curfew. Schmerfew.  I stay up until she's home.  Or until there are no more opposite sex, unrelated teenagers in my house.

It's killing me.

*yawn*

In other news, the weekend was nice...

...even though the Hogs lost.  What else is new?  But it was a great weekend for college football.

And now we have a cool, rainy Monday.  Yippee.

ZZZZzzzzzz

This weekend I slept.
And slept.
And slept.
Seriously.
Friday night in bed at 8:30.
Two naps on Saturday.
Saturday night in bed at 7:30.
Oh, wait.
Fall back.
Make that 6:30.
And call me a Mamaw.
Sunday night in bed at 8:30.
It was delicious.

Extra sleep, but not really.

Well, good news. The asteroid didn't hit the earth. Whew, that's a relief.

And I survived the press conference.

LeBron James and Penny Hardaway were there.

They are a little bit taller than me. But not by much.

And I don't know about you, but I'm digging the time change thing. I love how it's dark so early. It makes the evenings so lonnnnnng.

Last night at 6:15, it felt like it as 9:30. Even Jordan said she was heading to bed. At 6:30??!! Oh..... it's only 6:30?

And we tend to go to bed a bit earlier. Because a few extra hours of sleep is nice. Unless your nine year old son sleepwalks all over the house all night long.

Or rolls over and whacks his cast on the wall and it sounds like somebody is breaking in the back door.

Or your husband snores in a ridiculously loud fashion and sounds like some sort of ferocious prehistoric animal.

Or you wake up at 1:30 and can't go back to sleep.

But other than all those little challenges, the extra sleep is nice.

So, I'm off to tackle Wednesday. And see what sort of treats are in store for this lovely Hump Day.

Untitled blah blah blah

Today is apparently Thursday. The week has been all jacked up. Guess we'll have it wrapped up before we realize. Fine with me.

Tonight is a volleyball game. Of course it is.

And then some football. Yes.

That's kind of all I talk about this time of year ... volleyball and football.

Football and volleyball.

That's kind of all there is right now for us.

And this weekend is just football. And I also want to sleep for 297,569,134 hours.

My little bouts of insomnia have resurfaced again. And that's not anywhere near cool.

And, the Captain snores. He has lots of versions of his snoring which range from sounding like a small grizzly bear to a clogged up vacuum cleaner to a Sleestak.

Please, people, tell me you're old enough to remember the Sleestaks.

This post has been all over the place. Just like my week.

It happens.

And to all a good night.

So I tackled Tuesday and finally fell into bed last night. I was so glad to see my delicious, yummy, soft, fluffy, inviting bed.

The Captain was watching TV.

Not a problem.

I can go to sleep with the TV on. No problemo.

But he was watching a Jimi Hendrix concert.

Ummmm, that's kind of a problemo.

Because I don't really consider Purple Haze much of a lullaby.

Hello, Captain. Those are not Peaceful Go To Sleep Sounds.

I rolled over and got all buried under my pillows and tried to muffle the sound of Foxy Lady.

But then the sweet Captain changed the channel and then I heard much improved Go To Sleep Sounds.

Some plinky plinky music.

"Oooooh, that's much better. Leave it there. What show is that?"

"Ummmm, that's the Weather Channel."

Good.

Good Night.

In. Som. Nia.

So apparently my body now thinks it's hilarious to wake up around 1:30 or so and be wide stinking awake until about 3:30.

Sometimes I just wake up for no reason. Sometimes Captain the Snoring Warthog wakes me up. Lately things like tornado sirens and thunder wake me up.

This whole "not sleeping at night" thing is problematic for several reasons.

First of all, sleeping through the night just seems like the normal thing to do. I've been doing it since I was about eight weeks old.

I get up at 4am every day. So falling asleep at 3:30 really isn't that much of a victory.

It makes me verrrrrry sleepy the next day if I've been up half the stupid night. I mean, the boss is really not a fan of the mid-day nap.

Usually, once I wake up, I'll head on over to the couch. Because even if Captain the Snoring Warthog hasn't woken me up, chances are he's tearing it up pretty good anyway and that keeps me awake. Or the shower dripping. Or the clock ticking. Or the fan clicking.

The last two nights I've just slept on the couch from the get-go. Mainly because the Captain now has some sort of cooties. So I have banished him and his germy self to the bedroom. With a good healthy spray of Lysol. *ccchhhhh ccchhhhh* If he looks at me -- or exhales -- I spray him. *cccccchhhhhhhhhh*

So if anybody else can't sleep or is just a night owl, hit me up sometime.

I'll be hanging out on the couch playing Words with Friends and catching up on Twitter.

Have a good day people. More rain headed our way today. Lovely.
