Raise your hand if you watched the crazy man walking across the Grand Canyon on a cable.
That. Was. Crazy.
I was beyond nervy.
The Captain was just like "...meh..." Apparently, he's hard to impress.
How much more would you need to impress somebody than walking across the Grand Canyon without a harness or net?
Seriously. That guy was nuts.
And, he wore jeans. Which I think is so weird.
That cable was wobbling and the wind was blowing and he was balancing.
My hands were sweating and my heart was racing and my stomach was turning.
It was quite a feat.
Speaking of feat, I'm about to go tackle this thing called Monday.

The blah blah blah
So here's what's going on with all that's going on...
Jordan is FINALLY better. No more "parasite problems" - just very very tired. One thing that's so weird about this is the parasite makes her body unable to tolerate dairy for up to two months after her Rx is over. So, in essence, she's lactose intolerant. No ice cream for her. I'm just glad she turned the corner on the ol' parasite. Bye bye parasite.
Tonight is a reunion of all the folks from my days in radio. Well, I wasn't IN radio - I was in radio promotions. I'm excited to see everybody. Too bad I couldn't lose 20 pounds in the last week. But whatever.
The Captain's grandmother was moved to a hospice house last weekend. It's been difficult and weird and sad and hard and all that. Really not a fan of this part of life. Having to ask hard and ugly and difficult questions. And do hard and ugly and difficult things. It's just icky. And icky.
So, it's finally the weekend, and that's a gigantic hooray.
See you on the flip side.

Things
Back to work for me today.
I've been home since Friday night.
It was yummy.
It's always yummy.
Here's what I've accomplished:
Got my hair cut.
Got Cooper's hair cut.
Made a blueberry pound cake.
Played lots of ping pong with Cooper.
Played a little xbox with Cooper.
Watched Cooper play lots of xbox.
Cleaned out some junk and took to the Goodwill.
Read a book.
Watched college baseball regionals.
(JuJu, Since I can't cheer for Cute Coach Brother, I'm hanging with the SEC and pulling for Mississippi State and LSU in the CWS. What about you?)
Watched lots of Food Network.
Took a nap.
Or two.
Did mucho laundry.
Lots of laughing with my Cooper.
Wondered about the Captain and Jordan.
They have no cell service.
Just a canoe and a hammock.
It's been a nice few days.
Nothing exciting.
Just lazy summer days with my Coop.
Now back to work.
Blech.

Happenings
Just a few things that have been been happening in my world:
I slipped on some water in the frozen food aisle at the store on Saturday and caused a big ol' scene. Landed right on my bootie bottom.
I was making a purchase for the Captain's grandmother which required my having a lengthy discussion with my father in law about all the varieties of feminine hygiene products.
Coop and I played a video baseball game on his xbox. I lost 35-8. It was not pretty. My cartoon video fans were booing me.
Jordan and the Captain left yesterday for a five day youth group trip. They will canoe 50 miles and camp out every night in a hammock. Cooper's dinner prayer last night included "Please don't let anybody get eaten by a grizzly bear."
I'm off work a few days this week. Coop and I will be watching college baseball if you need us.
I saw a crow in the middle of the road with a whole loaf of french bread.
Can't wait to see what this week brings.

1. Sadness about Oklahoma.
2. Jordan got out of school last Friday at noon. Cooper has to trudge through the rest of this week. Summer is near!!
3. I like frosted shredded mini wheats.
4. Jordan gets her braces off today! Holla! Had to wear them for three years, but that extra year eliminated the jaw surgery. I'm excited for her. I'm also glad there won't be little tiny rubber bands all over my house. So, hooray for straight teeth!
5. I'm currently fretting beyond measure about where Jordan will go to college. Not so much from the financial side because I'm hopeful she will get a hefty scholarship. Just the choices and where and all that. And, it's ok to do all that. Just probably not the summer before her junior year. I drive myself crazy sometimes. Definitely a side of myself that I don't like.
6. Do you follow me on Twitter? @angie128
7. But, the real question is, do you follow Gauge on Twitter? @gaugedog
8. Left work yesterday and told my coworkers to "have a good weekend". That does not bode well for my week...

Cray.
It got a little bit nutty at my house yesterday.
Finishing up math homework.
Then quick turn around for Coop and the Captain to get to the baseball game.
Make a PB&J sandwich for pre-game. Two PB&J sandwiches for post-game.
They were meeting us at graduation.
Gear bag, water, cleats, extra shoes.
Jordan's boyfriend - who has a little yard biz - and also a big ol' truck - was helping us in our front bed by pulling out two gigantic ugly bushes.
Big ol' truck in the middle of the yard trying to pull out the two gigantic ugly bushes.
Cue pizza delivery boy.
Right in the middle of a little cry session on my part because I was thinking about my niece.
Hello pizza boy.
Sorry, I'm crying a little. My niece is about to graduate.
Sorry for the big ol' truck in the middle of my yard.
Trying to pull these bushes out.
He just looks at me like I was a middle aged crazy woman.
OK then.
"It's ok ma'am. Here's your pizza. Have a good day."
Dog barking barking barking.
Shifting departure time for graduation by thirty minutes so we can get some pictures.
Call my mom to let her know we'll be early.
Finally - out the door.
Get my mom.
Get to graduation.
Get some pictures with my favorite graduate.
Captain and Coop slide in right as the graduation started.
It's ok to wear baseball pants to graduation, right?
Baseball victory. Championship tonight!
Pomp.
Circumstance.
A few tears.
A great night.
My precious graduate.
Home at 9:30.
Have to write a letter to Cooper's class to tell them how great he is since he's the super student this week.
Turn on Griz game.
They were down 17 when we got home.
Then they won in OT.
Grit. Grind. Griz.
Late night.
Great night.
But way too tired for today to just be Tuesday.
Coffee, please.
Bye.

Cheering for the Grizzlies in the playoffs.
Got insurance statement that now has my teenage driver added to the policy. $$$$$$.
My niece Morgan graduates next Monday night. I'm so excited for her. I'm also a blubbering mess.
I love toasted English muffins with peanut butter and honey.
I'm still driving the big truck bus. And I still can't park. I've noticed none of my coworkers will park near me.
I'm obsessed with Origins Peace of Mind. They did not pay me to say that. Nor, did they send me any free product. It's just great stuff. Check it out.
What's going on with you?
Bye.

Entertaining
Coop had a little music program last night.
We were entertained.
Jordan and I were also entertained by the man who was sitting behind us.
We could hear his conversation before the program started.
He had lots to say.
He has had some digestive problems.
And the doctor wants him to eat broccoli.
And kale.
Says those will be good for him.
And juice, too.
Doctor said that would be good for him, too.
They are also keeping an eye his prostate.
He has to go back in May for another test.
He's worried about Mama Dean.
He had to take her to the doctor.
Her toenails had grown so long they grew down into her toes.
She couldn't walk.
And, her legs were all swollen up.
She's on some strong medicine.
Strong, strong medicine.
Somebody else has stitches.
But they ruptured.
All the stitches.
Then, the program started.
When every song started, he would say, "A-right!"
And then at the end "BRAVA! BRAVA!"
It was also very evident that the man wasn't kidding when he said he has been having some digestive problems.
Excuse you, sir.
Please don't poot 17 times during the chorus program.
So, Mr. Man was pooting.
And talking about his prostate.
And kale.
And I was enjoying my baby sing Down by the Riverside.
The end.

stuff
It's Friday.
I think.
My brain has not returned to full function.
We are headed out this weekend.
Again.
For a volleyball tournament.
Last one of the season.
It's Jordan's last tournament ever.
Ever.
Yes, she is hanging up her knee pads.
More on this later when I can generate a complete thought.
I feel so discombobulated.
That's a big word for somebody who can't think straight.
Be impressed.
Plus, I still have my Easter decorations up in my house.
Is that ok?
That drives me nuts.
But I can't help it.
Happy Easter.
And, have a good weekend.
I'm rambling about blah blah blah, volleyball of course

Ciao
We got this postcard from Italy.
Sounds like our friends have had a great time.
Sweet of them to think of us during their trip
And send us this postcard.
Just one little problem.
No clue who it's from.
No idea.
None.
Zip.
They didn't sign it.
Nor do we know anybody who recently went to Italy.
Or who goes to Italy every year.
Their "annual sojourn"
So anyway.
Glad they had a great time.
And sent us a postcard.
OK.
Ciao.

Tuesday blah blah blah
OK, so I didn't post yesterday.
There was loud outcry from my three readers.
Sorry to disappoint.
I was busy celebrating the Captain's birthday!
Happy Birthday Yesterday, Captain!
Jordan and I celebrated by getting a manicure and pedicure last night. OK, so maybe that was a little more about us than him... but he seemed content watching shows about Bigfoot and German history.
Today's excitement features Coop heading out on a field trip to an interactive simulated town. They run businesses, go to the bank, vote for mayor, etc. etc. They even had to apply for jobs. Cooper was excited to report last week that he got the job of Beverage Supervisor at Chik Fil A.
That reminds me he needs a sack lunch.
And we have no sacks.
So, I'm headed to the store.
At 6:30 am.
In the rain.
To get sacks.
And I probably have no cash.
So I'll be charging $2.14
Have a good day!

Goodbye. Hello.
Good bye Week.
I'm kicking you to the curb.
You won.
I'm done.
Uncle.
You wore me out.
And made me cry.
You weren't very nice and I'm glad to see you go.
Hello, Weekend.
I'm glad to see you.
I won't be spending you in a far away city watching volleyball and sleeping in a hotel bed.
Or pull out couch.
You and I will be together this weekend at home.
Home.
Hooray!
I could weep tears of exhausted joy.
I'm so excited to wash towels and change sheets.
And perform other domestic duties.
Thanks for showing up, Weekend.
Treat me right.

Toner and cards and going away parties and stuff
Yes, that was me in WalMart last night at 9:50 buying toner for the printer so Jordan could finish a project and paper due today.
And I was doing this fast walk scuttle combo to move quickly to the back of the store to the Printer Toner Department because I thought the store closed at 10:00.
Only to find out later they are open 24 hours a day.
So I really just looked stupid.
Which is the way it is most of the time anyway.
So there's that.
In other news, Coop's interest in magic has resurfaced. Specifically card tricks. Now, I'll admit there are a few of them that have me quite intrigued. But some others require a little work. Like when he says "OK, close your eyes for a second." Probably not too much magic involved in that. But, anyway, we've had lots and Lots and LOTS of "This is an ordinary deck, right? OK, pick a card. Any card." He's hilarious.
His main concern is learning how to shuffle, because, "Mom, how can I be a magician if I can't shuffle."
I also taught him how to play Solitaire. He loves it. But he also wants me and the Captain to play with him. Which is fine - I love playing with him. I just find it slightly amusing when he says, "Come play Solitaire with me!"
Work is still filled with high levels of crazy right now. And this week has worn me slick. Plus, my back hurts and I've been using a heating pad like a Mamaw.
But, tomorrow is Friday and the week is almost over, so we have that going for us.
Just saw that today is the Pope's last day. Wonder if they'll have a going away party for him with a big cake and "We'll miss you" balloons. Then he leaves his key and ID badge with HR and heads on out. "Bye y'all!"
OK, I'm done.
Bye.

Nay nay
Yesterday was work, work, work.
And lunch with Mom and Connie
And basketball practice and volleyball practice and a quick run to the grocery
And math homework
And stuff like that
And my driving the Captain crazy because I thought I saw a dead horse
Or a sleeping horse.
He was laying on his side.
On his side.
In the field.
Oh dear.
So I called the Captain who told me more than once that he was not sending a squad car to check on the sleeping dead horse.
What's the problem?
Are you all just too busy fighting crime and chasing criminals to go poke a sleeping dead horse?
Humph.
Well, an hour later the sleeping dead horse was still all laid out in the field.
So I called the Captain again.
By this time, he is wishing he had never asked me out that second time.
I also asked my friend Steve who has real live horse knowledge.
Not only does he have real live horse knowledge, he has real live horses.
He said it is not unusual for a horse to grab a sunny spot for a long nap on a cold day.
I quit asking the Captain to send law enforcement and paramedic help.
That's on his equestrian conscience now.
I hope the sleeping dead horse was just enjoying his nap.
And not moving on to greener pastures.

no braino
I think something's wrong with my brain.
It ever really rebooted after the holiday.
I can't remember anything. I can't figure anything out. I can't make basic decisions. I'm in a mental fog. It's a nice place. It just doesn't get along well with reality and life and such.
I sat here last night and struggled just trying to figure out a map.
Well, maybe that's not such a good example since I can never figure out a map.
I can't think of another example.
SEE????
That's the problem.
I can't think anymore.
Plus, the n on my keyboard has decided not to work anymore and whenever I type an n I have to go back and retype and retype.
nnnnnnnnnnnnn
OK.
That's all.

It's going on
Last college football game tonight.
Can't even stand it.
What on earth is a girl to do when it's over?
NFL playoffs will help me.
Has anyone else not even noticed there hasn't been any hockey?
OK.
Kids have one more day off before heading back to school tomorrow.
There remains some lazy crazy stuff going on here while I'm at work.
Like on Friday when I came home for lunch, I discovered Gauge had been eating pancakes.
Then, when I came home that evening, both kids were still in their jammies and watching TV in my bed.
And, Gauge met me at the back door with a bag of chips in his mouth.
Alrighty then.
Other than that, things are great.

passing on the password
Yeah, I know... I didn't blog yesterday.
The Captain is certain I've lost all three of my readers.
Counting him.
I just can't get things rolling.
Including my brain.
My first day back at work required my changing my voice mail password
To a "combination of 6-15 numbers including a character."
Yes, I was totally mentally incapable of developing one.
I'm serious.
It was bad.
So I left it.
And now I just look at that little red light and wonder who called me.
I had a similar problem over the holiday when I changed my password for work email on my PC and phone, but then couldn't remember it to log in once I returned to work.
I tried everything that would have been on my mind at that time.
Creamcheese.
Nope.
Jammiepants.
No luck.
Napnapnap.
No.
I eventually remembered. And it was something so simple I was just flat out embarrassed.
I'm pathetic.
And, I just spilled a whole cup of coffee all over the kitchen floor.
Winning.

Home stretch.
One and a half days for Coop.
One exam for Jordan.
A little more work for me.
But, my brain has already started checking out.
A little too soon.
Gotta' hold on.
I just want to be hooommmmmme.
Need to make more Chex Chex.
And sausage balls, too.
Throw in another batch of fudge for good measure.
Wonder if I could serve that for Christmas lunch.
Sure.
Who doesn't like all that.
Ready.
Ready.
Ready.
For the holiday break.
Gotta' push through today and tomorrow.
Then we'll have some fa la la la la.
