I had a meeting last night after work and decided to grab a bite on my way.
I whipped into Back Yard Burger and pulled on up through the entrance to the drive thru.
Which ran right up along side the building.
That's when I saw the window.
With the man standing in there.
At the cash register.
Hmmmmm.
Thought that was weird.
But kept driving on through.
That's when I saw the menu board order station thingy.
On the passenger side of my car, angled away from me and facing the opposite direction.
Hmmmmm.
Thought that was weird too.
That's when I realized that some Back Yard Burgers have TWO drive thru windows.
One on each side of the building.
And I had driven through one of them.
The wrong way.
I texted Bingmama and the Captain. "I just drove the wrong way through the Back Yard Burger drive thru."
Captain's response (as if I did this on purpose!): "Why did you do that?"
Bingmama's response: "That is hilarious. They'll be talking about you all night."
*sigh*
My chicken sandwich was good though....

It just wasn't very clear
If the police have an intersection blocked off and they are directing traffic to turn left and not go straight down that street and you don't realize that cars are not allowed to go straight and you are in a hurry to get where you are going because you are kind of lost and running late to get to your son's field trip and you kind of gun it when you get up to that intersection and you attempt to go straight instead of turning, because you didn't realize they were making all the cars turn left, the police do not like that AT ALL and they tweet their loud, mean whistles at you and run up to your car real fast and surround you and scream "HEY HEY HEY STOP STOP STOP!!!" at you real loud and it is not a pleasant situation.
So don't do that.
Just sayin'.
And yes I finally confessed this little story to the Captain.
And he did that eye rolling thing at me that he does.

WHATAREYOULAUGHINGAT?!?!?!?!!?!?!
It had really not been an ideal day on many fronts. It was the end of a very, very long -- and not so great -- day. I was ready to just be done with the whole stinking thing. Let's just say nothing about it would probably make my lifetime highlight reel.
The Captain and I had gone to bed and were watching some a very good football game and I was filling him in on all this blah blah blah stuff that had happened that day.
I had just confessed to him that I actually told Cooper (who had stomped his foot in anger at the "time for a bath" order) that if he ever stomped his foot at me again, I would chop his legs off. Seriously. Did I really threaten to do that to my son? Yes, I did. Although people, I would never do that, ok? So don't go turning me into DHS or anything. But yes, I did say I would chop his legs off.
Anyhooo, I was weary. And my back was itchy. And I was acting like something that rhymes with itchy. And then it just got a little dicey....
Me: I think have Now-M-S.
Captain: Now-M-S?
Me: Yeah, it's like PMS, but it's Now-M-S. Maybe I should call it C-M-S.
Captain: What's the C stand for? Constant?
Me: WHAT!?!? CONSTANT???? WHATDOYOUMEANCONSTANT? ARE YOU SAYING I'M ALWAYS LIKE THIS? HUH?? ISTHATWHATYOUARESAYING?
Captain: (Laughing his head off so very proud of his humor): Well, not exactly.
Me: You think you're soooooo funny don't you? The C stands for CURRENT. As in NOW, but not ALWAYS. Like the P stands for PRE. As in BEFORE, but not ALWAYS.
Captain: Oh, I thought the P stood for permanent.
And then he laughed so hard I thought he was going to fall out of bed.

I'm done

I'm afraid my house key won't work tonight....
No more toe jokes.
Maybe I should have posted a picture of my toe-nub on here in the first place and been done with it. But that wouldn't have been nearly as fun. Or have generated anywhere near the number of hits on the blog that the Captain's toe has generated. Record numbers of hits today people.
But I've hurt the Captain's feelings.
So I quit.
After I sing one little song......
Ummm, I just listened to ALL the lyrics. And I'm not too keen on the part where it says "I'm gonna' find myself someone new. Someone who will be true."
OK, *now* I'm really done.
The End.
You're a good sport Captain. I heart you AND your toes.
I'm rambling about Great Toe Debate, I'm in big trouble, song of the day
Messed up. In more ways than one.
For some reason, my first post this morning, "Living a Dog's Life", fell under yesterday's date. Not sure what's up with that.
Anyhoo, the Captain was unmercifully teased at work yesterday. Words like "Captain Princess" and "Twinkle Toes" were used all day long. He was called into the Chief's office for ribbing. There were questions about his masculinity. All is better this morning, although he does think that it is not over at headquarters. He thinks they will continue to harrass him. I secretly hope they give him a gift certificate to Beauty Max.
I contend that it is not MY fault that the Inspector told the universe. I think he should be mad at HIM. However, the Captain says that the Inspector has thrown me under the bus and is alleging that I betrayed the marital trust and shouldn't have even told him in the first place.
I told the Captain that he needs to tell them that he discovered yesterday that the feeling of freshly manicured toes is actually quite invigorating and he's leaving early this afternoon for a pedicure appointment at the day spa.
I think they are all jealous that their wives didn't play a little jokey joke on them. They wish they were Fun-Havers like we are.
I will say that if the shoe were on the other foot (or the polish were on the other toe), and it was another officer that showed up with a gorgeous pedi, that the Captain would be the first one in line for a little friendly teasing. It's not really that big of a deal. It's not like I dyed his hair or he wore my underwear to work. It was just a few little pink piggie toes. What's the big deal?!?
I did tell him this morning that this was really all his fault because it started with him when he said I should ignore my toe-nub since nobody looks at their toes. I do have to say that the "Do you look at your toes at least once a day?" poll received more votes than any other poll that we have conducted here on the Me and My Good Life blog. It's a hot topic people.
If there is to be any retaliation, and I'm sure there will be, I hope it's directed toward the Inspector....He's the one with the big mouth. But I'm the one left holding the polish.

Living a dog's life...

That's all the news that's fit to print this morning.
Hope you have a nice Thursday people. Today is all we've got. Be happy.
I'm rambling about I'm in big trouble, my doggie
Guess where I am?
But for emailing his Inspector....
Big mistake.....
And then telling him about the toenails.....
Bigger mistake....
And actually using the words "pretty princess".....
HUGE mistake....
It's not really my fault that the Inspector then told the *entire* police department.....
Who teased him all day long....
Everybody thinks it's very funny.....
Except the Captain.....
I'm sorry Captain.....
But it really is funny.....
