Busy week ahead.
Jordan has two a day volleyball practices across town.
Coop has golf clinic waaaayyyyy on the other side of town.
Throw in an orthodontic appointment for good measure.
Jodi's out of town all week.
Oh, and I'll be working.
It takes a village.

Nine.
So the Coopster turns nine today. NINE. Can't. Stand. It.
He's so excited.
He's getting a new bicycle. That I may or may not have gotten yesterday for ONE CENT. That's how it rang up. And the gal didn't want to mess with calling the manager and doing all that cash register stuff. So she sold us the $100 bike for ONE CENT. Wooop!!
For those keeping score at home, he has finished all 96 episodes of Mindfreak. Whew. That's a lot of illusions people.
For those of you worried about his next Netflix endeavor (JuJu), he's tackling four seasons of Drake & Josh and three seasons of Man vs. Food. Guess those are a little more tolerable.
The rest of the weekend featured...
...Jordan and a most active social calendar and the Mom Taxi in high gear.
...our air conditioner being out Friday and Saturday. Fixed now. Thank the high heavens.
...lots and lots and lots of Mario Kart. I always finish 12th. Out of 12. At least I'm consistent.
...some hot, hot, hot temps.
Guess the air is still out at work.
Grabbing a fan and heading that way.
Peace and love.

In search of balance
I really have nothing to say today.
Other than it's pretty hot.
And it's way too early in the not even officially summer yet to be this hot. We are already knocking on the door of 100 degree highs. No likey.
And I'm still seeking balance in my Mom-life and my work-life. And I know you are all sick of hearing about that. So I'm not going to even go into it.
But I'll just say it's very hard to keep all that rolling right now.
And it's day four of summer.
And I'm already worn out from trying to make it work.
And I drove 470 miles roundtrip yesterday. To go see Bingmama. In Illinois. She buries her dad today. Which is not related to any of this. And I'm not real excited about driving anywhere this morning because I'm slightly wearly.... But I love Bingmama. And my heart hurts for her.
Work is so.....work. It's hard right now. It's different. And frustrating. And very challenging mentally and emotionally. Plus the biggest bummer to that work thing is they want me to actually BE there. Which is somewhat conflicting with the two smaller humans who want me to be home. And who need me to drive them to practice, dental appointments, camp, parties, and other various and sundry social events. But I am making it work. Killing myself trying to do it, but am making it work. Maybe it's always like this at the beginning of the summer - trying to settle into a "not" routine. I can't remember.
Oh wait - I wasn't going to go into all this. Sorry. What a buzz kill this blog has been lately. And did I actually put a picture of a pork roast on here yesterday? Seriously..... I'm sorry people. I promise I'm climbing out of this whatever I've been in. Life Pit. Whatever... It's just real life for me right now. Parenting. Death of several friends. Working. Emotions. Lots of emotions. Throw some hormones in there for good measure too - that's always fun. It's just life. LIFE.
In other news, did I tell you it's hot?
Oh, and Cooper is on episode 83 of Mindfreak. And he just chopped some guy's head off. And made an elephant disappear. Impressive.
Peace out people. Stay cool.

Teenage girl randomness
Jordan and I had a 20 minute ride to volleyball practice last night.
And, yes, even though you have an anterior talofibular ligament tear, you are still a member of the team and still go to practice wearing your boot.
During that short little ride over to the gym, these are a few of the things my daughter, who is apparently also suffering from a little ADD, said:
I can't believe I made an 89 on that algebra test. I'm so mad.
Do you have $5?
I need my hair cut.
Look at these split ends.
This split end has split ends.
I don't know what I'm going to do about insert boy's name.
This weekend will be busy.
I want a milkshake.
I wish I could run tonight.
I have a zit.
Great, I have two zits.
Look at this fat around my lips.
Does my hair look ok?
Where is the youth group thing this weekend?
Do I have PT tomorrow?
I did my exercises twice today.
What's for dinner?
I hope the boys basketball team is practicing tonight.
My brain had trouble keeping up with her quick topic changes. But I guess all that beats a silent 20 minute car ride. And we've had that too.
Hump Day. Hooray.
Groundhog Day. Humph.
Bye.

Five hours of my life
A detailed log of my activities from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 28. Like you care. But oh well.
3:00 Leave work
3:25 Pick up Jordan from school
3:31 Take a look at her cranker expander thing that has fallen completely out of her mouth
3:35 Realize I need gas
3:45 Meet Captain at orthodontist and drop Jordan off
3:55 Get gas
4:05 Pick up Cooper from Mom's
4:10 Realize he doesn't have pads for his football pants
4:18 Get call from Jordan telling me orthodontist took cranker expander thing out (Yea!) and put in thicker wire instead (Boo!)
4:20 Go home to get football pads
4:25 Head BACK to school
4:28 Put football pads in pants at every red light
4:30 Confirm that I hate putting those pads in the pants
4:40 Hear a train whistle
4:41 Start to cry that I will be stuck at this train and be late
4:42 Miss the train
4:43 Say YES! out loud
4:52 Arrive at school
4:53 Weep tears of joy and amazement that I made it before 5:00 pm
4:54 Wake Cooper up since he fell asleep in the car
4:55 Tie cleats, tighten pads, snap helmet
5:00 Go get some milk and lunch box staples since marshmallow and Ritz crackers do not a lunch make. Also get some motrin since Jordan's mouth is going to be real sore from the new tight wire
5:34 Arrive back at football practice
5:45 Realize I'm going to freeze to death
5:50 Start freezing to death
6:00 Put my flip flop clad feet (STUPID) in the bag that holds my sport chair.
6:20 Lose all feeling in my feet
7:08 Get excited when the coach starts that group clapping thing which signals the end of practice
7:09 Say I LOVE TO HEAR THE CLAPPING! out loud
7:16 Wonder how long the coach can continue to talk about giving 110% at the game on Saturday
7:18 Leave school
7:20 Turn on heater full blast
7:21 Determine that is a bit selfish since Cooper is sweating.
7:23 Find moderate temperature
7:25 Realize it's hard to drive with frost bitten feet
8:00 Arrive home

We'll both be cranky.
Probably by the time you are reading this, I will be in Mississippi in a cow pasture with one of my physicians doing a live TV morning show about ATV safety. Yes I will be leaving my house at 5:30 am wearing some fashionable polka-dot or camo boots. At least it's not still 157 degrees. Oh the glamorous life of a PR gal....
Speaking of yucky. Jordan got her orthodontic appliance expander cranky thing yesterday. This is NOT her mouth, but it looks kind of like this.
They said it shouldn't give her any problems other than when she is talking, swallowing, breathing, eating, and getting food hung all up in there. Okey dokey. She is supposed to put a little pin (that looks like a crochet needle) thing in the middle (between those arrows) and crank it down every day. Erg. Looks like some medieval torture device.
In the meantime, Connie and I are trying to figure out how to do all this tonight.....Jordan and Niece M's volleyball game at 5:00 pm at Location HS, Nephew T's football practice 3:30-600 pm at Location CR, Cooper's football practice 6:00-8:00pm at Location CR, and Cooper's meet the teacher night 7:00 pm at Location CD. *sigh*
That's about it for me. And that's enough.
Hip Hip Hooray people! We've made it to Thursday!!
I'm rambling about braces, football, mom taxi, volleyball of course
